The3+2-year Exercise Physiology-to-Master of Science in Cancer Care program allows you to finish both degrees faster without having to reapply. Concentrations such as Fitness Professionals, Physical Therapy, Cancer Care, Graduate Allied Health, and Pre-Med allow you to tailor your degree to your career aspirations. We understand that applying to a university can be daunting, which is why we make our admission process as simple and straightforward as possible.

This concentration is great preparation for career success and advanced education in a variety of fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician’s assistant, personal training, and more. Your faculty advisor will work with you to ensure your course plan includes all prerequisites needed for any graduate degree program you wish to pursue. The program also furnishes students excellent preparation for pursuing a graduate degree in exercise science or another health-related area. The department’s Ph.D. program, which is ranked #1 in the United States by the National Academy of Kinesiology, prepares graduates for entry into positions in universities, colleges, research institutes, research oriented clinical settings, and industry. Areas of specialization are applied physiology, health aspects of physical activity, and motor behavior/rehabilitation.

Working in small groups and using state-of-the-art facilities, you study a range of people, from individuals suffering from chronic disease to elite athletes. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, health education specialists, such as a wellness program director in a corporate setting or a manager of a health and wellness initiative, have a national median salary of $60,500. Aquatic Exercise Association – If you want to help people reach their fitness goals, you don’t have to do so in the field or at the gym. With the Aquatic Fitness Professional certification, you can show aquatic centers and individual clients that you’re prepared to train people in a variety of aquatic sports. You don’t have to have a degree for the certification, but since the exam is very rigorous, it’s a good idea to study intensively for it. Sometimes, fitness consultants even make money by training people virtually.

Upon completion of the Exercise Science Program, our students are qualified to work in entry level and above positions within the field of Exercise Science. Students in the integrative exercise science program enjoy the benefit of learning in smaller classrooms on Hiram’s close-knit campus. They can get hands-on experience in the integrative exercise science lab, which is equipped with assessment and diagnostic equipment found in a variety of professional career settings.

Credentials such as the NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification can help individuals be more competitive.
